Adaptation of Czech Language Leaving Examination for the Deaf in Light Testing Czech Language as a Foreign Language

This diploma work focuses on Adaptation of Czech Language Leaving Examination for the Deaf, which deaf student in Czech republic pass as a part of the their Leaving Examination. As a background of this main theme examines also present situation in the research of reading literacy. In the main part of this work is this examination presented in detail and there are also presented the results of deaf students and some other statisticts information. Examples of test units and student's written works are attached too. The other part of this work describes examinations of Czech language as a foreign language and give some detail information about the most important exams. In conclusion, the author of this work is trying to explore the way how the deaf students language skills in other countries are examined in their Leaving Examination.
Didactic Use of Authentic Text in the Teaching of French

Authentic documents have been an integral part of foreign language teaching since the 1970s. The aim of this master's thesis is to present the theoretical background of the didactic use of authentic documents in the teaching of French. This is comprised of the classification of documents, criteria for their selection, as well as their benefits toward developping communicative and general competencies. This paper includes an analysis of selected French textbooks and suggestions of authentic documents to be used in the teaching of French as well as documents on the Internet.

The Usage of game in Teaching Czech life and institutions

My diploma essay is devoted to games as away of education which can be used in Czech realia education of adult foreigners. A part target is to describe the situation among teachers of Czech as a foreign language. In the focus of interest, there are questions how to treat Czech realia education, which ways of education to use and how to feel the game as a way of studying while using in this type of education. The main target of my essay is to find out how successful the suggested revision and motivation games are in the Czech realia education and if they can bring something new for students. The first part of my diploma essay is devoted to realia description, their classification and problems connected with organisation of this education type. In the rest of chapters, the game is treated as a way of education which can be even used in Czech realia studies. In the empiric part of my essay, I used an electronic questionnaire to find out the opinions of teachers of Czech as a foreign language which they have on Czech realia studies and using game there. The research dates serve as further motivation item for realisation of the second research which is devoted to suggestion of revision and motivation games for Czech realia studies, their practising and evaluation from the point of view to school results...

Language education in foreign countries

Language education is getting more and more important nowadays. English is one of the most favored languages in the world and in the Czech Republic as well. World globalization brings more pressure to standardize language education. Unification of the style and teaching way in Europe and all around the world has some negatives, for example suppress of teaching another languages then English. A few documents focusing the analyses and creation recommendation for language teaching have been made. The most important document in Europe is Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) which determine knowledge of language to A, B and C and also describe which level should a student have after completing each school year. One of the instruments supporting language education is CLIL (Content and language integrated learning). Different teaching styles and attitudes had been compared during history. Comparative pedagogy has been established for this purpose. Comparative pedagogy is mapping and comparing particular education systems. A lot of organizations interested in comparative pedagogy have been established after the Second World War. Different states have distinct requirements for language teachers. The Czech Republic bases its language education policy on EU. EU´s goal is that all its citizens should be multilingual. This means that beside the native tongue people should speak two foreign languages. The Czech Republic is on the similar level as the majority of Europe. Pupils start to learn foreign language in the third class of the basic school.
